Your Magical Mountaintop Wedding

This majestic mountain top lodge-style home will offer you a perfect setting for your unforgettable wedding. The famous 14,000 foot peaks of Mt. Lincoln, Mt. Cameron and Mt. Bross are your backdrop as you exchange vows on the ceremony deck, surrounded by Nature.

You can consider the Elk Ridge Ranch your private home. Not a crowded lodge or dude ranch, but a privately owned estate with the serenity and seclusion of its own 50 acres of mountain, surrounded by millions of acres of national forest, with unbelievable beauty and recreational enjoyment. Because you "rent the ranch", the entire home can be yours to enjoy in the days before and following your ceremony. Most importantly, your wedding day has no schedules or restrictions as those imposed by public facilities.

The Elk Ridge Ranch is a 5,800 square foot magnificent 3 story log lodge with accommodations for up to 16 people in 5 bedrooms. Of the lodges three master suites, one is named the "Eagle's Nest", a true honeymoon suite. Privacy is paramount as you climb the log stairway which leads off the Entry Hall, up to the Suite, separate from the rest of the house. As you escape from your guests, massive log beams and expansive windows greet you, framing the view of the peaks above and the lake below. A custom bed wrought from local aspen trees is the suite's centerpiece, with a sensuous tub and gas fireplace to complete the ambiance. The Suite's romantic atmosphere provides a sanctuary from the celebration. Surrounded by peaks that seem to tickle the stratosphere, your emotions will soar to the highest heights.

Your Magical Mountaintop Wedding

When you "Rent The Ranch", you may host weddings and receptions for up to 100 guests outdoors by utilizing the Event Tent included in the site fee (30'x45'). The entire property becomes yours to enjoy and share with your guests. The ranch provides a lovely setting for your wedding ceremony and/or reception, and additionally makes a perfect place for your other events such as rehearsal dinner, BBQ, brunch, or simple family gatherings.

Lodging for up to 16

This magnificent log lodge-style home accommodates 16 people in 5 bedrooms, allowing you to house your immediate family, bridal party, or out of town guests in an exceptional manner. This is a luxury residence, with amenities such as a large stone fireplace, large outdoor hot tub, Jacuzzi tubs in some baths, sauna, pool table in the game room, gourmet kitchen, wireless internet and artistic details in every facet of this custom designed and built home.

Eagle's Nest Honeymoon Suite

Many Brides and Grooms choose to stay at the home themselves, enjoying the privacy and luxury of the "honeymoon suite", found atop a spiral staircase encircling an ancient tree with its eagle's nest. Located on the opposite side of the grand entrance hall, this suite is somewhat separate from the other areas of the home.

Your Wedding --- Your Choice

Because you "rent the ranch" you have all the choices as to the details of your wedding. It is up to you how you want to entertain your guests. You may choose your own caterer, provide your own liquor, and your own entertainment, after all, it is your wedding and your facility. We are happy to assist in your plans by recommending caterers, photographers, etc. (see the Helpful Links page)

Summer Weddings (Memorial Day through Mid-October)

The Ranch is only available for outdoor weddings from Memorial Day through Mid-October. The Event Tent is lighted and heated and can accommodate tables for a sit-down dinner, a buffet, and/or a band and dance floor for up to 100 guests. Just beyond the tent, there is a slightly raised deck platform which is a perfect place for the ceremony, or band, or announcements, etc. The backdrop for this platform is the breathtaking view of 3 of Colorado's highest peaks, a fabulous photo opportunity.

The 1,500 square foot tent is placed upon a concrete patio, with paved or stoned walkways to and from the house, surrounded by natural lawn and landscaping. This patio area is just steps from the decks, patios, outdoor bar, and entertainment rooms of the home. The lower level entertainment and game room features a wet bar, ideal for drawing guests into the home, to enjoy all aspects of this exquisite setting.

A Really Big Wedding?

If you have in mind a large wedding of over 100 people, the Ranch is not the place for the ceremony and reception. But let me tell you how one couple chose to make the Ranch "the heart and soul of their wedding". While the ceremony was held at a Breckenridge church, and the reception for 160 people was in downtown Breckenridge, the couple enjoyed having their closest friends and family here with them at the ranch. They planned a western style barbeque here for their rehearsal dinner for 40 people and made the Ranch the central attraction for all guests. Since then, their idea has spread...

A High Country Experience for Your Out-Of-Town Guests

There are ample opportunities to share this unique Ranch setting with your guests from out-of-town. Few people can hike a "fourteener" while vacationing for a weekend, but with a short hike up our trails, guests will find themselves above the timberline, witnessing views only seen by an elite few.

Photo Opportunities Galore

Photos of your wedding and reception will feature the most magnificent backdrop. Beyond the windows and outdoor decks, the amazing view of Mount Lincoln, Mount Bross, and the Lake Montgomery "Amphitheater" beacons. If you dare to journey to the top of the trails above the home, you will find ancient Bristlecone Pine Trees, completely pristine alpine meadows, valleys, and the back of Mount Silverheels, rarely seen by the "common folks". A few minutes away, at Lake Montgomery, you will find the magnificent waterfalls and huge boulders which make up the fabulous photo on our web site. If your time and budget permit you can schedule more extensive photo sessions before or after your wedding day, so as not to consume all of your celebration time.

If you would like to visit the Ranch, just give us a call or drop a note via e-mail, and we will try to accommodate your schedule. However, a one to two week notice to set up a visit is customary and would be greatly appreciated.
